About
CLIMACY
‘Climacy’ is a small-scale partnership aimed at promoting sustainability and environmental education by equipping teachers, trainers and educators with the skills and knowledge necessary to educate students about sustainability and motivate them to act in the modern environmental challenge of addressing climate change and building a climate-resilient future. “Climacy” is designed to improve public understanding and awareness of the importance of adopting sustainable behavior.
HOW
The project will lead to the enhancement of the European scope of activities and networking through the establishment of consolidating cooperation within the partnership and its evolution into a formal network of organizations committed on the topic, further expanded with the development of cooperation arrangements with external stakeholders, both during and after the end of the active life of the project. Furthermore, environmental education promotes a sense of place and connection through community involvement. When students decide to learn more or take action to improve their environment, they reach out to community experts, donors, volunteers, and local facilities to help bring the community together to understand and address environmental issues impacting their neighborhood. Central to this project is capacity-building for teachers, tutors, and educators with the aim of motivating young people to act in the modern environmental challenge of tackling climate change and build a climate resilient future.
Climacy aims to:
- raising awareness on climate change among young people
- stimulate youth and educator engagement to achieve ways of addressing the problems and opportunities resulting from climate change
- analyse the best practices and methods of teaching and training for teachers/tutors to keep the young people motivated through green activities and environmentally friendly behaviours
